TIMELINE

  • April 2, 2020 - America's COVID-19 Task Force (ACTaskForce) was formed with a mission of supplying KN95 masks to people in need to help curb the growth of the COVID-19 virus.

  • April 5, 2020 - ACTaskForce successfully placed an order for 1,000 units of KN95 masks with funds donated by team members. These units will be donated for free upon arrival to local organizations in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. 
    • April 6, 2020 - 1,500 units of KN95 masks arrived in New York City. These units were donated to ACTaskForce through efforts of family and friends in China, as well as Wuhan healthcare workers at the epicenter of COVID-19 outbreak to provide healthcare workers with much needed PPE and help the ongoing efforts in NYC.

      - 600 out of 1500 masks were donated to Manhattan Hospitals.
      -Remaining 800 masks are being arranged for distribution.

    • April 8, 2020 - UPDATE: Estimated Date of Arrival for the first 1,000 units of KN95 masks for the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area is Thursday, April 9th.

    • April 9, 2020 - Estimated Date of First Distribution in the Washington D.C.  Metropolitan Area will be Thursday, April 9th. 

      ACTaskForce selected Regency Taxi & Barwood Taxi, organizations located in Montgomery County, Maryland, as the first recipients to receive 200 units of KN95 masks. Collectively these two companies have a transportation network that spans the whole county and are on the road 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Main ridership includes the elderly which receive rides to and from medical appointments, grocery stores and to pharmacies. We hope by keeping the drivers safe, we can in turn keep riders safe to help flatten the curve.

      On April 9, 2020
      ACTaskforce:
      - Visited and donated a total of 200 masks to Regency Taxi & Barwood Taxi in Gaithersburg,MD.
      - Visited and donated a total of 50 masks to Holy Cross Hospital in Germantown, MD. 
      - Visited and donated a total of 50 masks to Rockville Volunteer Fire Department in Rockville, MD.

      The remaining 700 pieces are planned to be divided among 14 local organizations including but not limited to hospitals that accept KN95, grocery stores, senior centers, homeless shelters, and more.

    • April 10, 2020 - ACTaskForce placed an order for 5,000 units of KN95 masks.

    • April 10, 2020 - A busy day for ACTaskForce team as KN95 masks donations were distributed to Howard University Hospital, Inova Fairfax Hospital, Doorways for Women and Families, Martha's Table, Everyone Home DC and MyCRi.org

    • April 11, 2020 - ACTaskForce Team distributed KN95 mask donations to Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, Barwood Taxi, Regency Taxi, Department of Veterans Affairs, MedStar Washington Hospital Center & Central Union Mission. 

    • April 14th, 2020- ACTaskForce visited and donated 50 KN95 masks to St. Stephen and the Incarnation Episcopal Church. 

    • April 15th, 2020- ACTaskForce shipped 600 KN95 masks to Mon Sheong Foundation and an associated nursing home in Canada where a severe COVD-19 outbreak has occurred (https://globalnews.ca/news/6800173/mon-sheong-home-for-the-aged-in-toronto-coronavirus-outbreak-deaths/)

    • April 15th, 2020- ACTaskForce placed an order for 6,000 more units of KN95 Masks. 

    • April 23, 2020- ACTaskForce delivered 5,000 masks to Challenger Transportation. Challenger Transportation operates a large fleet of Para-transit vehicles in the state of Maryland. Passengers with disabilities are offered shared-ride and door-to-door services.

    • April 27, 2020- ACTaskForce prepared 10,000 masks to ship with their certified factory partner and expects to distribute 1,000 of those masks to Temple University Hospital located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

    • May 7, 2020- ACTaskForce delivered 250 masks to Thrive DC assisting in their mission of safely providing meals to the homeless. Thrive DC provided over 150,000 meals in the last 12 months with the help of over 2,000 volunteers.

    • May 7, 2020- ACTaskForce visited TransDev and delivered 1,000 masks to help promote safety within their large front line worker operation. Transdev is the largest private sector operator of multiple modes of passenger transit in North America, providing bus, rail, paratransit, shuttle, sedan and taxi services.

    • May 15, 2020- ACTaskForce donated 1080 KN95 masks to the Center for Asian Health, Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University. ACTaskForce is now a vetted and approved donor and supplier to Temple University. 

    • May 17, 2020- ACTaskForce donated 500 KN95 masks to the frontline Emergency Department staff at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. ACTaskForce is an official approved donor and supplier to Rutgers NJMS.
        • More progress and updates will be posted as we receive more donations from everyone!
